liner notes: When it was in coffee houses, Lynne Hughes was around Seattle and Berkley with a Martin guitar and a voice that people remembered. When it was in ballroom rock, Lynne was in San Francisco singing with the Charlatans and later with her own group, TONGUE & GROOVE.  Now it's on the road with America's new music nomads, in festivals and mountain camps, and Lynne has made a record in Hollywood while the truck refits for Spring.
Denny Randell (incredible shinking production) and Michael Melvoin (arranger - keyboard) built this album for Lynne out of the live creation that fine musicians find together on good dates. West Coast rock underlies the cool school brass progressions to build a totally new song setting for Lynne's sound.
It was a beautiful groove to make this record. It is a great record to listen to, again, and maybe much later, at night, when the truck is parked...................
comment #1: In April 1969 Lynne Hughes has toured with the SIR DOUGLAS QUINTET. At that moment she was the singer in TONGUE & GROOVE. Both groups were a part of the "Flying Bear Medicine Show".

comment #2: It is likely that Lynne heard Doug's original version of "And It Didn't Even Bring Me Down" during this tour before she covered the song on this album.
