info from eBay (wolfgangsvault):
San Francisco-based Blue Cheer formed in 1967, just in time to ride the “Summer of Love” wave. Their music, although bluesy and psychedelic, was extremely loud and much different than the other bands of the 1960s. Labeled as an early heavy metal band, Blue Cheer had numerous lineup changes throughout their five year career. This show at the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds had the Cheer playing with Bronze Hog and the Sir Douglas Quintet. Graphic artist Sam Sirdofsky did a handful of rock posters in the 1960s, and later did illustrations for children’s books. This poster is one of his best works.

This poster measuring 17 7/16” x 22 7/8” is a stunning piece of artwork. It is on thin paper, which lends it to handling damage. It has pinholes in the two upper corners and staple holes in the bottom two corners. There is a 3/8” tear at the bottom of the poster (shown in image below). Its thinness shows dimples from light handling, which causes five white markings in the black background along the right edge (shown in image below). The women/butterfly is unscathed and absolutely amazing. This is a great poster that can be marveled at for hours.
