comment #1: | "The Rains Came" was a huge local hit from February of 1962. It was on the local radio around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Big Sambo and the House Wreckers were in the top ten on KLIF for over a month with this recording of "The Rains Came". The song would not only be a hit in 1962, but would hit the air again when the Sir Douglas Quintet would cover it four years later. It's a great ballad in the tradition of South Texas (Huey Meaux) productions. |
lyrics: | "The rain keeps fallin' and the tears keep coming down. I couldn't find my darling, wonder she's left this town. Rain. Rain, Rain. Rain. I like to see my girl again. You broke my heart and caused me so much pain." |
comment #2: | BIG SAMBO (BIG SAM) is James ‘Big Sambo' Young. |
