comment #1: Mendocino is an instrumental version.
comment #2: This is a remarkable album production.
In 1969 Michael Holm had a huge hit with his German version of Mendocino. His version is one of the best selling hits ever in Germany. Even today his version appears on many samplers. Also his version, and not the version of Doug Sahm (!), has been covered by many, many (German) artists. Germany loves medley's, and therefore Mendocino is a part of many medley's.
"Schlagerexpress Nach Mendocino" was released in 1969 (before October 9). During that time Michael Holm had his huge success with his version. Although a large picture of Michael Holm is on the cover, the album title is "Schlagerexpress Nach Mendocino" and two songs of Michael Holm are on this album, his Mendocino-version is NOT on this album.
The Mendocino version on this album is an instrumental one. It's not just the melody of Mendocino, but a free (weird?) interpretation of the song.
comment #3:

There are some rather rare songs on this album too. Never been re-released.
The two Michael Holm songs are from his only 1968 schlagersingle.
The songs of Suzanne Doucet are songs that she recorded at the end of her career.
Jana Koncz was a "Hippie-singer" from Hungary. She had a hit in the DDR.
