comment:

"Wolverton Mountain" is a song by country singer Claude King.

The song is based on a real place and a real person. Clifton Clowers lived on Woolverton (the mountain's name is actually spelled with two O's) Mountain in Conway County, Arkansas and was Merle Kilgore's uncle. Clowers lived most of his life on a farm located on the northern edge of the mountain.Clowers lived to be 102 and was buried at the Woolverton Mountain Cemetery.
