The original title is "All My Love" written by Sonny West - Bill Tilghman, but during the Buddy Holly sessions Norman Petty changed the lyrics.

In early 1957 Sonny West wrote OH BOY and teamed up with fellow teen and keyboard player Glen. D. Hardin to record a demo of it at the Petty Studio. Later that year the song was recorded by his friend and contemporary Buddy Holly and backing vocalists The Picks, and soon it also became a smash hit and timeless classic.
