comment: | Each song has an explanation, which is printed in the booklet. "This song was written by that great Texas singer/songwriter, the late Doug Sahm. A true legend who's musical career spanned almost his entire life, writing and recording everything from country, folk, blues, tex-mex, rock, jazz to do-wop songs with great style. He's one of our musical idols and with so many great tune to shoose from, we had a hard time setting on this one. Sunshine and Gary set a great groove, J.P. belts it out and Dale... well, what can I say? This is our small tribute to a man who's given us such a great music and inspiration. Remember that name folks, The great Doug Sahm! " |
comment #2: | This CD is made by The Silvertones from Canada. Not to be exchanged with The Silvertones from Dallas, TX. The Silvertones were founded in 1993 by Brian Wicker and Kyle Copeland. Also not to be exchanged with The Silvertones from Jamaica. The Silvertones (who also recorded as The Musketeers and The Muskyteers) were a Jamaican reggae harmony group formed in 1964, best known for their recordings for Lee "Scratch" Perry in the early 1970s. |
