  GISELE MacKENZIE
(Amid hearlding trumpets, everyone tuned into "Your Hit Parade" on Saturday nights knew it was time to discover the NUMBER ONE song in the land set to a musical skit with either Gisele MacKenzie, Dorothy Collins, Russell Arms or Snooky Lanson doing the honors. During the week of May 7, 1955, it was Gisele's turn to sing the number song: as an elementary school art teacher, where she also gave her pupils a musical history lesson about Davy Crockett. Gisele often commented in later years that the song just wouldn't go away...it was among the top 7 tunes week after week after week.)
